S.O.S. Saving our Students: A Collaborative Approach to Intervention, is a tool that addresses the gap in education; of educational professionals, that should be filled with professional development sessions. While educators should have personalized professional development sessions that are tailored to their instructional needs, there are six different categories of these sessions that should be given to all educators who work in inclusive settings. These categories include: Inclusive Pedagogy, Collaboration and Time Management, Response to Intervention, Modifications and Accommodations, Emotional Intelligence, and Connecting with the Community. Professional development sessions based on these categories will help educators improve instruction and increase student achievement. This is just the beginning of how we save our students.
